This skirt is a classic and was a no brainer for me to do! As I was dipping my toes back into pattern drafting and diving into learning new software at the same time.
This skirt can be seen in some form in almost every decade in fashion contemporary history – one well known example is the milk bar skirt with the little poodle dog applique.

For design options I decided that this would have a gathered option intended for a dressier occasion to be sewn in a cotton sateen or a silk dupion to give the skirt alot of body, while the classic plain waist seam for a fun and playful light weight fabric.
With that said, this skirt is a classic with alot of styling applications….
